PUBLIC INPUT AT NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL MEETINGS Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the agenda that are within the Board’s jurisdiction will be heard during the General Public Comment period. Please note that under the Brown Act, the Board is prevented from acting on a matter that you bring to its attention during the General Public Comment period; however, the issue raised by a member of the public may become the subject of a future Board meeting. Public comment is limited to 2 minutes per speaker, unless adjusted by the presiding officer of the Board.
The Neighborhood Council system enables meaningful civic participation for all Angelenos and serves as a voice for improving government responsiveness to local communities and their needs. We are an advisory body to the City of Los Angeles, comprised of stakeholder volunteers who are devoted to the mission of improving our communities.
- Roll Call
- Public Comment on items not on the Agenda (2 minutes each)
- Presentation by Tracy James from the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks regarding public safety in Griffith Park, including enforcement of Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC) regulations related to unauthorized commercial activity and updates on plans for a new visitor center. (25 minutes)
- Discussion and possible action to draft a letter to LADWP and Council District 4 requesting improved enforcement of no-dog policies at the Hollywood Reservoir due to public health and water quality concerns.
Draft Letter (20 minutes) - Discussion and possible action to draft a Community Impact Statement (CIS) opposing Los Angeles City Council File 250400 unless amended. The CIS supports the goals of Measure A and LACAHSA but urges the City to pair funding alignment with stronger commitments to operational efficiency, execution, and public accountability — ensuring that future programs are results-driven and responsive to public concerns.
Draft CIS (20 minutes) - Discussion and possible action to draft Community Impact Statement (CIS) opposing Council File 25-0002-S34. The CIS supports the intent of SB 21 to modernize obsolete SRO housing, but opposes the City’s resolution due to rigid one-for-one replacement mandates that could hinder urgently needed redevelopment.
Draft CIS (20 minutes) - Discussion and possible action to support the CA YIMBY open letter urging the California Senate Housing Committee to advance key pro-housing legislation—including SB 750, SB 677, SB 79, SB 543, and SB 9—and to submit a letter of support to Council District 4, Council District 13, and the City Council REIR Committee requesting that the City formally support these bills.
CA YIMBY Open Letter
Draft Cover Letter (20 minutes) - Old/Ongoing Business
- New/Future Business
