LA Sanitation and Environment is proposing an increase to the Solid Resources Fee (trash fee) and the Multi-Family Bulky Item Fee found on residents’ LADWP bills. LASAN is performing widespread outreach to educate Angelenos about the proposed increase and to offer opportunities to learn more.

LASAN has also created short videos about each proposed outreach that may be viewed on YouTube. These are currently posted in English, with Spanish and Korean subtitled videos soon to be available as well:

The Project Fact sheet and other collateral materials are also available on LASAN’s website in many more languages:

HUNC hopes to have LASAN make a presentation on these proposed hikes.  Increases still require being passed by a vote.  The public hearing for the proposed 2025 LASAn bulk dump and solid resources fee increases is scheduled for Monday, September 30, 2025 at 10AM at Los Angeles City Hall, 200 N. Spring St. Los Angeles, CA 90012.  Public is welcome to attend and speak at the public hearing or stream it online.  Public can also submit written protests. If a simple majority of more than 50% of the affected parcels submit a protest, LASAN cannot implement rate adjustments.  If the majority is not obtained it goes up for LA City Council vote. More information about hearing and protest process can be found on City Clerk website.  To stream live, check out LA Cityview 35.  Recordings after hearings also available here.
