
Mayor Bass alongside Councilmember Monica Rodriguez announced a landmark investment to repair and replace up to 60,000 street lights citywide using solar power, the largest street lighting upgrade in Los Angeles history, tackling widespread outages while making neighborhoods safer.

- Repairing and replacing up to 60,000 street lights within two years
- Eliminating a decade-long backlog of more than 32,000 service requests
- Deploying solar-powered lights that are more reliable and resistant to copper wire theft
- Delivering safer, better-lit streets in neighborhoods most impacted by outages
- Advancing L.A.’s transition to 100% clean energy by 2035
