Councilmember Ryu stopped by the July board meeting to honor the 12 years that Susan Swan has served as President of HUNC. Susan was instrumental in the creation and development of HUNC.
Hollywood United Sponsors a Summer CERT Class
The Hollywood United Neighborhood Council is sponsoring a CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) class this summer taught by by the Los Angeles Fire Department. The training program furthers the process of citizens understanding their responsibility in preparing for disaster, and increases their ability to help themselves, their family and their neighbors.
Second Free Self Defense Class
A Million Drops will be sponsoring another self defense class. These classes promote public and personal safety, and it will provide this valuable service free-of-charge to members of the community.
