LA DOT is Looking for Community Input

The City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) is inviting riders and community members to share their experiences and ideas through the RIDER Study: Real Inputs Driving Everyday Routes.

This citywide effort is designed to strengthen and modernize LADOT’s transit services so they better meet the needs of people who rely on them every day. The RIDER Study will gather feedback on a range of LADOT-operated services, including DASH, Commuter Express, LAnow microtransit, and Cityride Dial-a-Ride. Input from riders and non-riders alike will help LADOT better understand what is working well today and where improvements are most needed.

The goals of the RIDER Study include improving safety and rider satisfaction, enhancing reliability and on-time performance, optimizing routes and service levels, and ensuring LADOT services are well coordinated with other local and regional transit providers. The study will also help LADOT prepare for future major events coming to Los Angeles, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the 2027 Super Bowl, and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, when demand on the transportation system will increase significantly.

As part of this effort, LADOT is especially interested in hearing from DASH riders about their day-to-day experiences. Whether you ride frequently, occasionally, or not at all, your perspective can help shape recommendations for improving DASH service in neighborhoods across Los Angeles.

To participate, please take a few minutes to complete a short online survey and share your thoughts. The survey is open through Sunday, March 15, 2026. As a thank-you for your time, participants who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a $50 gift card.

Additionally, LADOT will be hosting a virtual workshop on Wednesday, March 11th from 6- 7PM to gather feedback from community members. Your feedback will play an important role in guiding future decisions and ensuring LADOT transit services continue to support safe, reliable, and equitable travel for all Angelenos.
