PUBLIC INPUT AT NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL MEETINGS Comments from the public on other matters not appearing on the agenda that are within the Board’s jurisdiction will be heard during the General Public Comment period. Please note that under the Brown Act, the Board is prevented from acting on a matter that you bring to its attention during the General Public Comment period; however, the issue raised by a member of the public may become the subject of a future Board meeting. Public comment is limited to 2 minutes per speaker, unless adjusted by the presiding officer of the Board.

The Neighborhood Council system enables meaningful civic participation for all Angelenos and serves as a voice for improving government responsiveness to local communities and their needs. We are an advisory body to the City of Los Angeles, comprised of stakeholder volunteers who are devoted to the mission of improving our communities.

  6. Discussion of Neighborhood Purposes Grant (NPG) for LAFD Foundation Grant for Station 76 Community Garden landscape project and community event – possible motion to be heard at Board Meeting on Dec 11th for grant value up to $3000.
  7. Discussion for community cleanup and beautification of Gower or Argyle Median as Community Improvement Project, coordinated with Council offices, LA Beautification Team. Budget allocation to be discussed by committee. Possible motion to be heard at Board Meeting on Dec 11th for the purpose of budget reallocation from Admin Packet to fund Community Improvement Project.
  8. Discussion of methods to increase awareness of HUNC, g.
    • bus bench ads PSA
    • street banners PSA – we have banners already
    • free movie night at low cost locations with ample parking (Hollywood Adventist Church)
    • regular clean up days each quarter wearing HUNC Branded Tshirts
    • business window clings -HOLLYWOOD UNITED NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL BUSINESS PARTNER – and we sponsor a giveaway item they pass to clients
    • Sponsored events like free pet vaccine day at Tailwaggers, grocery bag giveaway at Lazy Acres & Gelsons
  9. Review of promotional items for HUNC and possible motion to put order on Board agenda Dec
